Default EXPIRED - The Wings of Freedom: A Mutual Defense Agreement between PROM and WSX

The Prometheus Alliance and the Duchy of Wessex are desirous of maintaining their sovereign independence and, in consequence of the recent political developments, the freedom to retain their neutrality without fear of threat or intimidation by outside parties to take a side in any conflict. This agreement, drawn up by His Excellency, the Right Reverend Prelate Malachi Drake, the Lord Bishop of Wessex, reflects this common aim and the scope of this agreement is limited to achieving this goal.

    The Wings of Freedom
    A mutual defence agreement between
    The Prometheus Alliance
    and
    The Duchy of Wessex.

    Article 1.
The Contracting Parties do agree to provide full and unconditional military support to their fellow Contracting Parties if one or more of the Parties are in threat of immediate invasion or their primary assets are in danger of destruction. Outside of this agreement the Contracting Parties maintain their sovereign independence and remain independent in all other matters.

The term primary asset covers any Keep, House or other building that is constructed by the Contracting Parties within their territory.

    Article 2.
The ultimate and final Aim of this treaty is to maintain the neutrality and to protect the territorial holdings of the Contracting Parties and to ensure that the rights of their individual members to conduct free trade and to travel unhindered throughout Myrland is protected.

All further articles should be read with this aim in mind and any dispute over the wording of an article should be resolved in the spirit of this Aim.

    Article 3.
The Contracting Parties shall each on its own part, and in the manner it deems most proper, make all the efforts in its power, against a Common Enemy, in order to attain the proposed Aim.

A Common Enemy is any persons, nations or unforeseen forces that interfere with the ultimate and final Aim of this treaty as stated in Art. 2.

    Article 4.
If a Contracting Party begins an offensive campaign against a third party, who is not a Common Enemy, then they recuse themselves from the remit of this agreement unless all Contracting Parties are in full and mutual agreement beforehand.

    Article 5.
During times of hostility the Contracting Parties agree that they will neither negotiate nor conclude an armistice or treaty with a Common Enemy except by mutual agreement.

    Article 6.
This treaty comes into force from the day of its ratification by all Contracting Parties and remains valid until such time that all Contracting Parties agree that it is in their best interest to dissolve the treaty.
