If the Kraken dies, does it respawn?

Its got a respawn time of 20-30 minutes, but it can spawn anywhere in a big area, so you have to hunt it down.
We went to an area where theres three krakens, but sadly only managed kill two with the resouces we took with.
We also managed to build half of a ship with the stuff we looted from the krakens 16 ship modules and an astrolabe, we alo received 22k gold a treasure map and enchanted materials.
