Well to be fair, it's also wider than I generally keep my browser window at (around 900 pixels on a 1280x1024 screen - our forums default to 800 pixels).
Anyway, even if you assume everyone has at least 1024 resolution and the window maximized, you still have the width of the vertical scrollbar to account for, so at least make it around 1000 px wide maximum if not narrower. If it could be cropped and shrunk down to about 760 that would be best.

enlarge it and make it a desktop wallpaper for 1280x1024!
And yeah, if you want this built into the main site you're going to have to squish it down to at most 647px wide. 'cause I ain't redesigning the whole website for it. If you want to redesign the website around it, then be my guest. If it's any good, we'll use it! it can be as tall as you'd like, though. if you crunch it down to that (by either shrinking it, or redesigning it so it's longer than wide... possibly by dropping the Freeman positions off completely) i'll code it on the site!

actually, don't cut the specialty forces off, i like it! we need to illustrate the possibilities for burgesses somehow. uh...
hmm
well, be creative. but in any case, get rid of that Duchy of Wessex text at the top. it sucks. either put it all on the right side or leave it out completely.

I hate to be picky...
647 width doesn't leave room for a scroll bar. Please make it 600 (ideally) to 625 or less ;) I didn't expect you to actually use the 647, even though I stated it quite clearly. It's my fault you've had to resize it so many times, but could you please do it once more? i'd just resize the jpeg, but if you do it it'll be fuber, because you're fuber, Komako!

Make a 1024x768 version and i'll love you long time :P

'Tis done. I put a temporary link to the ranks chart at the bottom of the Muster page.
I used ImageReady to create an html imagemap. This is quite easy to do and to update as necessary.
The description pages are also there, sized up to 600px.
All the files for these pages are in the /ranks directory, and they include a relative reference to ../government/muster.css .
