Alittle pc help

Could someone give alittle advise on my machine spec to see if I can get some more out of it. I currently have all the settings on low and Nvida set to high performance, im getting anywhere from 40/80fps running about and about 20/30 in combat and 2fps in sieges... I have done the tricks inside of darkfall settings and it helped alittle but was wondering if anything else could be done, many thanks. (i hope the info below is enough)

A new GFX card will do the trick, your CPU is fine to run DF and 4 gig of DDR2 ram is fine as well.

Also what windows are you using?

Im using windows 7 64bit ... i only have 2gig of DDR2

do you think if I had 4gig of ram it would boost me to say 150fps? or do i need that and a GFX card?

Well yes you would get a huge boost in performance as if Win7 is anything like Vista when running then yeah more ram :)

Now I know WIN7 is a lot better than Vista but it still requires a good amount of ram to run. Just getting more ram would help loads.

Not really sure on a amount... I have a HP desktop and Sarek tells me alot of parts wont work with it, is it worth spending £200/£300 on it? will that sort of money get me the fps i would like to have or should i just save up 1k and get a whole new machine that will last for a few good years to come? was looking on that site Sarek got his from and i could get a really nice machine there for about 1k quad core and 460 GFX card, 8gig of ram...

I think even spending £500 on my machine im never going to get it half as good... the only thing that will stay the same is the case, lol

or am i wrong and £200 will boost my performance to the 150+fps mark and 50+ in sieges?
Is my board fast enough to cope with the latest ram chips and Gfx cards...

I would rather save up the 1k and get an incredible PC that will last you another 3-4 years.

Tarek, you have a Pentium-4 at 2400MHz. You can consider that as a bad thing.
your motherboard will however accept Core2Duo-CPU's but not the latest ones. You might want to look on your local Ebay-equivalent for a 20,- C2D E6600 or so, that will make your current setup a whole new machine already.

You might want to look into an upgrade to your graphicscard also. A NVidia GTS250 (new around 75,- pounds (last year, now fased out), look for one on ebay) or a 9800/8800 (Basically the same) or obviously a GTX260 (Also 100,- tops new) will do a good job along with the CPU upgrade.

2GB of ram will do fine for now, but swapping out the 4x512MB which runs at 266MHz for 2x2048 (4GB total, running at 400MHz) will give you some improvement. CPU is more urgent though.

Oh wait, it's an HP-machine. Might indeed be tricky to upgrade the videocard but the E6600 CPU-upgrade will 98% surely work just fine. If the case is pretty standard (not a small office machine) you could just replace the motherboard with a cheap MSI one. Or look on Ebay for a complete computer for around 150-200 pounds.
