Within the great halls of the Cathedral the faithful children of Soldeus have gathered to witness the Rite of Ordination. Outside the sun has reached its highest point and the light of the Radiant Lord shines through the dome window above. A dais stands proudly within the circle of light and upon it rests the holy symbol of Soldeus. His Excellency, Malachi Drake, Bishop of Wessex, stands before the dais as he calls forth Elagost Thego.

Elagost Thego, as Bishop of the Diocese of Wessex, I attest that you have received the proper training and that you have proven yourself worthy of Ordination to the Priesthood of the Church of Soldeus. We rely on the help of the Radiant Lord and our Saviour Lucius and, having displayed great piety and devotion to both our diocese and to Soldeus, we choose you, our brother, for priesthood. Are you willing to serve Soldeus and His Church as a faithful priest?

Elagost Thego humbly accepts His Excellency's hand

I, Elagost Thego, make this public vow to all those present and to our Radiant and Glorious Lord. I give myself willingly and freely into the service of Soldeus and the Church. I vow to keep myself chaste and pure of heart and mind so that I may never worry that I have sinned. I shall always love our Lord and all His children unconditionally and completely and I swear that I shall guide those that have fallen from his Light with kindness and mercy and shall not raise my hand to one of Soldeus' children unless I am forced. I have given all that I have and all that I posses so that I may become all that I can and so that I may see the world through His eyes. I vow to spend my life with obedience to my conscience; the voice of Soldeus, and to His Church so that I may love and be loved by Him.

His Excellency places his hands upon the head of Elagost and in silent prayer he invokes the blessing of the Heavenly Father and the intercession of all the saints to shine down radiant light upon the new priest.

"May Lucius preserve you to sanctify the people and to offer sacrifice to Soldeus."

The members of the congregation give their approbation by a hearty round of applause. Malachi Drake turns to face the holy symbol of Soldeus and kneels beside the newly ordained priest. Together they lead the congregation in prayer.
