Greetings.

My name is Tewdric. I am a born and bred Sussex boy and have lived there all my life. I have filled out an application to join the Duchy of Wessex and eagerly anticipate the answer.

I have just been browsing through the forum cautious of how i would be welcomed here, by looking at various posts i have realised i have chosen the right place. First impressions: a well established guild with a extreamly friendly community. I can not wait to be apart of it.

To the Duke of Wessex, I am mearly stating that i come from Sussex, I hold no allegineces at the moment to any lord and therefore am looking to join the Duchy of Wessex. If this is a problem I will hope that we could resolve the problem

To person above Sussex is a county in England which neighbours Wessex.

Stuff about me: At the moment in time i am not sure of what the future holds. I would not mind to be a Soldier for Wessex and hopefully lead a band of men myself however I would not mind being an archer and doing a similar job. But the prospect of working with the Wardern protect our boundries and scouting for our armies as a ranger appeals to me.

I confess that i do not know that much about this game yet. I actually only found about it early today. But im thinking about playing a human. by chance can someone enlighten me on the subject :D

The Duchy of Wessex is mainly a Human clan in the land of Mercia (Human part of the DF world: Agon).
Even if we favor Human members more, we do let the other two races: Dwarves and Mirdains(Elves) in.

Around 2/3 of the clan is Human, With the rest split equal amongst Dwarves and Mirdains.

And yes as Koma stated, If in doubt, Go Human since we need more of them.

Thanks for all the information. I will probably play a human then. Still do not know whether to be a ranger or warrior. Love the idea of cavalry aswell. Heck i have to be accepted first so i wont play to vigoursly yet.

Oh yeah when i searched Darkfall beta on google and on the main website it comes up with clan appliactions, is such a guild like Duchy of Wessex aplied or even accepted?

Yep, We have been accepted in the Clan-Beta.

Sorry if this is wrong. But am i a trial member or just an esteemed guest. I filled out the application and i can not remember if that makes me one or not. If i am wrong please do not think of as an arrogant person :D

First, you fill out the application. Then, your application gets reviewed. If accepted, you become a trial member. Trial membership can last anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months, and if you pass, you become a full member of Wessex.

So, right now you're waiting for you application to be graded.

What it comes down to is the amount of beta-spots we're given.
All the "Beta-Clans" have around 12 preliminary spots each right now, This is likely to grow as beta is announced and since we're one of the biggest clans around we might get a lot more spots if they need the clan system tested thorough.

This being said, Theres no guaranty that everyone will get to try the game.
