A Thane is the leader of s subguild that has sworn fealty to Wessex. They are usually the leader group of 15 or more members of a pre-established clan that want to join Wessex in Darkfall but wants to keep their old clan intact.
Thanes are of equal status to a Knight or a Baronet. A Thane is allowed to take an Esquire
