Here do I proclaim my Oath of Service to Sir Kaylem Sothenic, Knight Bachelor, Constable of Wessex;
Until he bid me leave or shall find in me merits deserving knighthood I vow to serve him as his squire:

I shall offer no threat nor insult nor harbor ill will to any man my Duke or my master doth hold a friend,
I shall be observant and thoughtful of all things,
I shall take all knowledge deigned to me,
I shall remain at my master's side on the battlefield,
I shall not show nor harbor fear or doubt in the tasks given me by my Duke or my master,
I shall share all knowledge I hold,
I shall remain true and faithful to my Duke and his laws, and
I shall defend the beliefs of the Church of Wessex;

I vow upon my honour to uphold the code, customs and traditions of chivalry:

To defend my Crown and my Knight
To be ever courteous and reverent
To seek excellence in all my endeavours
To be courageous and faithful
To be always loyal, honest, and true
To temper justice with mercy
To be temperate and humble
To shelter the weak
To help the needy
To champion the right
And uphold the good
To teach what I know
To learn what I can
To be true to my Faith
And to be faithful to, diligent in, and precise regarding my duties;

All this in each area of my life.
So swear I in the Name of the Radiant Lord God,

I accept this pledge of service and shall perform my due diligence in mentoring Mister Bastor Sharpeye. To a quality unparalleled, I will train him in the code, customs, and traditions of chivalry and in the arts of warfare until such time as he is deemed worthy of the honour of knighthood. I promise to hone his heart and his mind in the profession of arms to further the military strength and might of the Duchy of Wessex.
