Holy Decree: Appointment of the Vicar of the Diocese of Wessex
From His Excellency, the Right Reverend Malachi Drake, Bishop of Wessex, to all children of Soldeus, greeting.
In the name of our Radiant Lord Soldeus - on the thirtieth day of the month of July, in the four hundred and tenth year since the resurrection of Lucius – as Bishop of the diocese of Wessex, by holy decree, I make the following appointment.
Elagost Thego, having displayed great piety and devotion to both our diocese and Soldeus, has been appointed as the vicar general of the Diocese of Wessex. A vicar general is the principal deputy of the bishop of a diocese for the exercise of administrative authority.
The Very Reverend Father Elagost Thego, by virtue of his office, has ordinary power to exercise the bishop's executive power over the entire diocese. Thus, he is the highest official within the diocese, after the Bishop of Wessex.
