Yeah you are right. Well thanks for the info Zehtuka. Has really helped put everything into perspective.

Agreed, thanks a lot Zehtuka. Also, here is the motherboard I'd get.

When putting together a system I always focus on getting the most performance for the money. Here's a pretty good meta-benchmark database http://cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

As for dual GPU, it might not be very cost effective and not all games work well with them. Getting a single powerful GPU is more standard and can save you some trouble in the future.

And I've been looking at benchmarks for the 1055t and 965 and there seems to be only an average of about 5 FPS difference between the two. I guess I'll go with the X4 for now and I've also picked a fairly good mobo which I'll post a link to in a couple hours. It just seems like picking the X6 for 20$ more would be a better option for the future because eventually games will use all 6 cores.
You only need x8/x8 for Crossfire so I don't know where you got that idea from, I strongly recommend that you also stick with one GPU to save you a lot of time getting everything to work properly.

The x6 is more future proof, but if you do not overclock I suggest you take the x4 because it will perform better in nearly every game. 3.4Ghz beats 2.8Ghz.

I don't plan on using crossfire so I guess I'll get a worse motherboard. I just don't want to skimp out on it because I'm getting an OEM version of windows. Also, wouldn't x8/x8 bottleneck it? And I most likely will get the x4.

I also learned that I actually have a 2ghz processor right now

x8/x8 is plenty of bandwidth for most cards, only cards like the 4870x2 and 5970 would have a bottleneck if they were in a crossfire setup. (Quad-Fire)

Okay, thanks. I'm going with a Gigabyte 880G mobo from a local store, I think. Also probably gonna get the 1055T because it's close enough to the 965 for games but I like to be able to multitask, and because it's better for the future, although AMD is coming out with bulldozer soon.
